Chiropractic for Asthma Parma, OH

A study of asthmatic children may give you the confidence you need to continue taking your asthmatic child in to your chiropractor in Parma, OH.

Researchers from Minnesota studied 36 kids aged six to 11 years old. Every day parents rated their children on lung function tests, symptoms, and severity of symptoms. Actual lab tests were available to the researchers during the study. All children continued getting medical treatment as well.

Children with asthma in the treatment group received chiropractic treatments while the remaining children with asthma did not. The ones who received treatment had 20 office visits within a three-month time period.

The improvements were much better in the chiropractic treatment group. For example, the children with asthma who received the chiropractic treatments reduced their use of the beta bronchodilators by 20%. Their quality of life scores (according to the children) improved from 10- 28%. The most improvement in their lives was in level of activity; the children didn’t have to stop playing as much as before when they had asthma and received chiropractic care. The children’s asthma severity rating fell by 39% and there was an overall improvement rating 50-75%.

All these are such positive changes; yet, the children’s lung function remained the same. Interestingly, the researchers stated that the improvements were probably not all due to the chiropractic care. They thought that the combination of medical and chiropractic accounted for the results.

Whether or not your child with asthma benefits from chiropractic alone or chiropractic plus medical treatment should never be the question. The question should be if it worked, why not continue?
